When I met Penelope

The first time I met Miss Penelope she was quietly staring out of her kennel. She had been at the shelter for over three weeks and was considered extremely fearful when she first arrived. She had definitely blossomed at WHS because this sweet girl was happy to see me when I started talking to her from the gate. I put my fingers against the door and she started licking them. I was smitten.

I took her out of the kennel to hang out and go for a walk. She was hopping and bouncing everywhere and I noticed she pranced everywhere she went. I found it to be absolutely adorable.

They said that her wiggle walk was likely caused by something neurological. It wasn't an issue and didn't bother her. It didn't require any treatment. She just trotted here and there like a pony. They also told me that she needed a foster home. I promised Miss Penelope that I would take her home tomorrow and said good night to my new foster dog. I just couldn't say no to that face!
